The Department of Economics offers a diverse range of courses having the overall aim of an individual education with high practical value. The Bachelor courses prepare students for careers in national and international businesses, as well as in public institutions. Students acquire the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to meet the requirements of the global job market on a high academic and practical level.

In the Bachelor course of “Business Management”, emphasis can be placed on two of the following: Controlling, Marketing, Entrepreneurship & Finance, Public Services & Management, Leisure & Event Management, Human Resources & Management, Taxes/Financial Reporting, Business Information Technology, and Nordic Management.

For the first time in Germany, a course in Nordic Management is offered for students who have a strong affinity for Scandinavia and are aware of the large economic potential in that area.

With Bachelor and Master courses in “International Tourism Management” and “Business and Law” the West Coast University of Applied Sciences offers specialized knowledge, based on Business Studies, in Tourism Management and Business Law. The school’s internationalization plays an important role in these courses.

The Department of Economics also offers research and consultation capacities in its full range to businesses, administration, and politics and participates in intensive knowledge transfer.
