All areas of business use modern information technologies: excel is part of routine work around the office, database supported applications are used for various tasks, and management employs many techniques known from computer science for process enhancement. The alumni of this emphasis area will be the professional and technical link between Business Studies and Computer Science for all IT related questions. Many of the arising tasks, especially for the optimization of the day-to-day business, can be solved by our graduates. Numerous projects and bachelor theses – among others for Bayer, the Bertelsmann Trust, Lufthansa, the County of Dithmarschen – prove the practical applicability of the acquired skills.

The most recent project is the development and marketing of the internet based Tourism Information System (T-fis).
