Travelling by train and bus

Coming from south Heide can be reached via Hamburg-Altona station. This is not Hamburg central station! In summertime twice a day an ICE-train from Cologne stops at Heide on its way to Westerland on the island of Sylt.

Coming from Kiel there are two ways to Heide, however you have to change either in Husum or in Neumünster.

Coming from Hamburg airport take the S-train S1 to Hamburg-Altona and change to the local train "Nord-Ostsee-Bahn" northbound to Westerland/Sylt. Total travelling time will be about 2 hours.
