Scholarships & helpful organizations

Students wishing to study at the West Coast University of Applied Sciences, Germany should start organizing their stay in Germany as early as possible.

A major part of the organization process is financing. Students from selected countries need to prove to the German Embassy sufficient savings in order to be allowed to stay and study in Germany. Please contact the German Embassy in your home country to get further information on the procedures of obtaining a student visa.

Students in the need of financial aid have several possibilities. This website offers a list of links and tips on how to apply for financial aid. 1. Financial Aid (Attention: consider the deadlines!) Exchange students from Erasmus partner universities can apply for ERASMUS grants at their home university. Please contact your international office or exchange coordinator for further information.

If you are a not a German citizen, but EU-citizen (or holder of a permanent residency permit) of one of the ERASMUS member countries you can also apply for ERASMUS grants. Grants can be obtained either for semesters spent at an ERAMUS partner university or for an internship conducted at a company in one of the ERASMUS countries.

In order to qualify for ERASMUS grants, students must be enrolled at the West Coast University of Applied Sciences, Germany. Please contact the International Office at the West Coast University of Applied Sciences for further information and application forms.

Another possibility to obtain financial support for regularly enrolled students of the West Coast University of Applied Sciences, Germany is the interest-free loan program “Studis auf die Walz”, which is supported by the Förderforum FHW. This financial support is intended for students in financially and socially difficult circumstances. For further information, please contact the international office.
(Attention: Applications received after your departure abroad will not be accepted!) Tip: A scholarship application should be done as thoroughly as a job application.
