Lernziele / KompetenzenThe aim of this module is to analyse the discrepancy of self- and external perception by using theories and empirical studies (and perhaps to simulate role playing games) on the basis of “critical incidents” to control acting and experiencing in a competent way and with respecting alterity.
Inhalt

Tourism has always played a role alongside world trade in initiating relationships between European and international cultures since the Renaissance. Thereby cultural auto and hetero stereotypes are constituted, but also revised or consolidated. The cultural self, which is a part of business travels, is confronted with the cultural stranger. Which effects (could) arise in this context, there are not only theories, but also plenty of empirical studies, which give hints on the different “conversation manners”, because they are what expresses the cultural self and stranger.
